CRAFT BEER BASE, a craft beer company based in Oyodo, Osaka, announced that its 'Southern German-style Pilsener' won the Silver Award in the German-Style Pilsner category at the World Beer Cup 2026, one of the world's largest beer competitions.
The World Beer Cup is an international competition organized by the American Brewers Association and is known as the 'Olympics of Beer,' representing the highest peak of beer evaluation.
In the 2026 competition, 8,166 entries were submitted from 50 countries, with 12 entries from Japan receiving awards. The German-Style Pilsner category, in which the 'Southern German-style Pilsener' won, was a highly competitive category featuring 201 entries.
