Fixstars Amplify, led by CEO Yoshiki Matsuda, has entered into Japan's first partnership with the German quantum startup QUDORA Technologies GmbH. The company has added QUDORA's quantum computing environment, "QUDORA Cloud," to its optimization cloud service, "Fixstars Amplify." By supporting QUDORA's superior quantum computing environment, Fixstars Amplify will further promote the social implementation of optimization and quantum technologies.
Applying Advanced Ion-Trap Quantum Computers to Optimization
QUDORA is a leading German full-stack quantum computing company that provides the most advanced ion-trap systems in Europe, combining its proprietary NFQC(R) technology and in-house chip manufacturing. The 50-qubit system, scheduled for operation by 2027, utilizes a unique long-lived "clock qubit" with high fidelity, already demonstrating an extraordinary coherence time exceeding 60 seconds. This long-lived property is expected to drastically improve the calculation accuracy of optimization algorithms, including QAOA (Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm), compared to conventional hardware. The system is planned to be extended to 200 qubits.
By using the "Fixstars Amplify SDK" library for combination optimization problems and the "Amplify Quantum" extension, users can now use QUDORA's quantum computing resources to conduct R&D on various quantum optimization algorithms, including QAOA.
Launch of "Qamelion Emulator"
Prior to the operation of the actual hardware, QUDORA is providing the "Qamelion Emulator," which faithfully simulates the physical characteristics of the machine. Users can immediately experience the next-generation computing environment through the Amplify SDK without waiting for hardware resources.
Fixstars Amplify is providing tokens for the Qamelion Emulator to support evaluation and validation. Users can start using the emulator via the Fixstars Amplify cloud by applying through the access token page. The emulator is available free of charge for one hour per person.
Comment from CEO Yoshiki Matsuda
I am very pleased to form a partnership with QUDORA and integrate their superior ion-trap quantum computing environment into Amplify. QUDORA's proprietary NFQC(R) technology will dramatically improve the calculation accuracy of hybrid algorithms such as QAOA. In particular, scalability to thousands or tens of thousands of qubits is expected to be key to realizing practical quantum computing. Under the vision of "Providing optimal answers with cutting-edge technology. Making society smarter," Amplify aims to expand its value as a gateway to next-generation quantum computing environments. Through this collaboration, we will actively incorporate innovative technologies and powerfully promote the industrial application and social implementation of quantum technology.
Comment from Dr. Amado Bautista, CEO & Co-Founder of QUDORA
I am honored to partner with Fixstars Amplify and expand access to our quantum computing solutions. By combining the exceptional ion-trap qubit quality and coherence time that QUDORA boasts with Fixstars Amplify's excellent optimization functions and infrastructure, users will be able to more effectively develop and practically apply quantum applications in all fields, from research to industrial use. Japan is a crucial market for QUDORA, and this partnership strengthens our presence in this region. Fixstars Amplify is a partner that shares our philosophy of applying quantum technology to complex computational problems.
