Development Background: 'Next-Generation Gut Bacterium' Researched Overseas

Akkermansia muciniphila is a relatively new and noteworthy gut bacterium found in the human gut. While lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria primarily function in the gut flora (inside the gut), Akkermansia resides near the gut lining (mucin layer) and has been reported on by research institutions both domestically and internationally as a bacterium with a different positioning from conventional probiotics (※1-9).

On the other hand, as it is a bacterium that is difficult to ingest through food, and research suggests that the amount possessed tends to be low in Japanese people and certain demographic groups, attention is focusing on supplement design as a means of replenishment.

Overseas (e.g., US) Akkermansia-containing products generally contain around 1 billion live bacteria CFU. This product, based on research suggesting a tendency for lower possession in Japanese people and referencing clinical data on safety, adopts a high-content design of 10 billion live bacteria CFU per capsule.

2. Gentle Ingredient Design for the Stomach (Uses Guar Gum Enzyme Degraded Product)

While overseas products often use 'inulin' as a prebiotic (food for bacteria), some individuals may experience gas or bloating. This product uses guar gum enzyme degraded product, which is said to be gentle on the stomach with mild fermentation, making it easy to continue daily. The formulation is intended not only to 'supplement' Akkermansia but also to 'cultivate' it.

3. Manufactured in a Domestic GMP-Certified Factory and Sold Domestically (First in Japan※)

While most Akkermansia-containing supplements are imported (e.g., made in the US), this product is formulated and manufactured using domestic GMP-certified factory.
