GiftX Inc. (hereinafter, GiftX) conducted the "Business Professional Generative AI Utilization Status Survey (2026 Edition)." A survey of 8,000 full-time employees and company executives nationwide revealed that approximately 67% of business professionals (7 office-related job types) use AI in their work, indicating that AI has already spread as a tool for daily tasks.
On the other hand, a deeper dive into 669 AI users showed that while about 70% felt an improvement in productivity and results, only about 20% responded that it had "clearly increased."
The difference in perceived results was attributed to how AI was used. Among those whose AI use was limited to asking questions and creating deliverables via chat, 14% responded that their productivity had "clearly increased," compared to 54% among those who had agentified their business processes with AI, a difference of approximately 3.8 times. AI agentification here refers to a state where AI handles multi-step tasks semi-automatically or automatically based on work procedures and judgment criteria.
Based on these results, GiftX has systematized AI utilization support specialized for marketing and sales and will officially launch the service on July 8, 2026.
Key Survey Findings
Approximately 67% of business professionals use AI in their work, and about 70% of users feel an improvement in productivity and results. However, only about 20% responded that it had "clearly increased" (Productivity 19.4% / Results & Quality 20.2%).
About 70% of usage is "stuck at chat" (limited to asking questions and creating deliverables via chat). Only about 10% have reached the stage of AI agentifying business processes.
The differentiator for results is the "AI agentification" of work. The AI agentified group saw a 54% increase in productivity, while the group limited to chat usage saw 14% (approximately 3.8 times. For results and quality, it was about 2.5 times).
The top organizational challenge is "AI utilization left to individuals" at 26%. On the other hand, about 60% responded that they "want to utilize AI more actively," indicating that the mechanisms to turn motivation into results are not keeping pace.
Survey Results
1. AI utilization has expanded to approximately 67% of business professionals. Over 70% use it daily to several times a week.
Approximately 67% of business professionals use AI in their work, and AI is spreading as a tool for daily tasks. About 77% of AI users use it frequently, from daily to several times a week, and its utilization is progressing regardless of job type.
2. About 70% of usage is "stuck at chat." Only about 10% have reached AI agentification.
However, there is a significant disparity in how AI is used. "Asking questions and consulting via chat" accounts for 28.1%, and "having AI create text, documents, etc. via chat" accounts for 42.2%, totaling about 70% who are limited to chat usage. The stage of having AI learn company information and execute tasks accounts for 19.3%, and those who have achieved AI agentification of their business processes are only 10.5%.
3. While the sense of "usefulness" is widespread, clear results are limited to about 20%.
The sense that AI is "useful" is widespread. However, only about 20% responded that productivity and results have "clearly increased" (Productivity 19.4% / Results & Quality 20.2%). The largest group, about 50%, answered "somewhat increased." While many people feel a certain level of effect, it has not yet fully translated into a clear sense of results. There is still a gap between being able to "use" AI and achieving "results."
4. The differentiator for results is the "AI agentification" of work.
So, what is the difference between those who could feel clear results and those who could not? One differentiator appears to be the depth of AI usage. When viewed by stage, there was a significant difference in the sense of results. In the group that agentified their work with AI, 54% responded that productivity had "clearly increased." In the group limited to chat usage, this figure was 14%, a difference of approximately 3.8 times. For results and quality as well, the AI agentified group reached 44% (other stages were 16-19%). While some improvement is seen even at the stage of having AI learn company information and work procedures, the sense of results significantly increased at the stage of entrusting the business process itself to AI.
5. Marketing professionals have wide AI usage, but there is room for improvement in perceived results.
Marketing professionals have an AI usage rate of approximately 74%, ranking second among the 7 job types, indicating relatively widespread AI adoption. However, the percentage of respondents who answered that productivity and results had "clearly increased" was the lowest among the 7 job types (Productivity 13% / Results 14%).
The rate of reaching AI agentification is 11%, which is not significantly behind other job types. The diverse nature of their work and the high difficulty of refining AI output into practical results may be contributing to the low perception of results.
Precisely because its use is widespread, there is significant room to enhance the sense of results by reviewing how it is incorporated into business processes.
6. The top challenge is "AI utilization left to individuals." Nevertheless, about 60% "want to use it more."
So, why are many people stuck at the chat stage? Individual challenges include "uncertainty about how much AI can be utilized," "the quality of output cannot be directly used in practical work," and "it takes time for repeated instructions and adjustments."
Among organizational challenges, the top issue was "AI utilization left to individuals." The absence of training and rules, and a lack of mechanisms and personnel to integrate AI into work were also ranked high, revealing a reality where the mechanisms to turn individual motivation into results are not sufficiently established.
On the other hand, about 60% responded that they "want to utilize AI more actively." What is lacking is not motivation, but the work design that translates motivation into results.
Official Launch of AI Utilization Support to Overcome "Chat Stagnation" in Marketing and Sales on July 8
As the survey indicates, the sense of results significantly changes when AI usage progresses beyond the chat stage to the stage of integration into business processes. However, it is not easy to proceed with target task selection, process design, and on-site adoption solely within the company.
Marketing and sales, in particular, involve many tasks where AI can be incorporated, such as planning, research, document creation, content production, customer support, and CRM operation. However, it is also an area with high difficulty in designing them to lead to results.
GiftX combines its understanding of business operations cultivated through supporting over 200 companies with its expertise in implementing AI agents in its own marketing and sales operations to support the design, implementation, and adoption of AI utilization that leads to business results.
