Green AI Selected for Ehime Prefecture's "Triangle Ehime 2.0"

Green AI Inc. (Head Office: Tokyo, Representative Director: Shintaro Suzuki, hereinafter "our company"), which provides the energy reduction and CO2 reduction system "Green AI," is pleased to announce that it has been selected for the general枠 (general frame) of "Triangle Ehime 2.0" for Reiwa 8 (2026) implemented by Ehime Prefecture.

Our company will promote the "Decarbonization Project through AI Automatic Proposal of Optimal Energy Saving Measures in the Paper Industry" using our decarbonization roadmap formulation system "Green AI," with a primary focus on businesses in the pulp, paper, and paper processing industry (hereinafter, "paper industry") within Ehime Prefecture.

Project Name: Decarbonization Project through AI Automatic Proposal of Optimal Energy Saving Measures in the Paper Industry

Initiative Details

Ehime Prefecture is one of Japan's leading paper and pulp industry clusters, with a group of paper manufacturing companies centered in Shikokuchuo City accounting for approximately 40% of domestic production. On the other hand, the paper industry is one of the manufacturing sectors with high energy consumption and CO2 emissions in Japan, making decarbonization and energy-saving initiatives an urgent priority.

However, many businesses in Ehime Prefecture's paper industry are small and medium-sized enterprises, and a significant number face challenges such as "wanting to tackle decarbonization but being hindered by specialized knowledge and initial costs."

Our system, "Green AI," is designed to create a decarbonization roadmap in as little as 5 minutes without requiring specialized knowledge, and its key feature is enabling decarbonization to begin without significant cost investment.

Furthermore, many of the measures we propose directly lead to reductions in electricity and fuel costs through energy savings, as well as improvements in on-site productivity, thus achieving decarbonization and cost reduction simultaneously.

Through this selection, our company will promote the following initiatives in collaboration with businesses in Ehime Prefecture's paper industry:

- Based on data of owned facilities, energy usage, and emissions, AI will automatically propose optimal measures from a database of over 5,600 energy-saving and decarbonization measures.

- Formulate an executable decarbonization roadmap in as little as 5 minutes by calculating CO2 reduction amounts, investment recovery periods, and cost reduction effects in real-time.

- Provide ongoing support for the entire PDCA cycle: Plan (formulation) → Do (implementation support) → Check (emissions monitoring) → Act (plan improvement).

- Expand implementation results within Ehime Prefecture to build a decarbonization model case for the entire paper industry.

Future Outlook

Through this project, our company's top priority will be to steadily accumulate implementation of energy-saving measures and verification of their effects among businesses in Ehime Prefecture's paper industry, leading to support for the decarbonization of the entire paper manufacturing industry in Ehime Prefecture. Through joint promotion with AITV, we will build a locally rooted support system and create an environment where businesses in the prefecture can proactively pursue decarbonization.

Based on these achievements, we will proceed with expanding our efforts to the paper and paper processing industries nationwide, as well as the manufacturing industry in general, and take steps towards the global deployment of Japan's energy-saving know-how.

"Triangle Ehime 2.0" is one of Japan's largest digital implementation projects, aimed at strengthening the earning power of businesses in Ehime Prefecture by implementing cutting-edge digital technologies in the field of various industries within the prefecture, leveraging the region's characteristics.
