株式会社HOLUS (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hideaki Abe; hereafter 'HOLUS'), which engages in produce cultivation and food manufacturing in Vietnam together with Japanese farmers, announced that its local subsidiary AGRIEX (based in Lam Dong Province, Vietnam) spoke at an agricultural conference held on May 23, 2026. The conference was hosted by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee to connect agricultural producers, cooperatives, distributors, and processors.

AGRIEX participated with the aim of securing a stable supply of raw materials for its frozen vegetables and expanding its contract farming network. During the conference, Representative Hideaki Abe addressed provincial government officials and numerous local producers. In his speech, he proposed a sustainable agricultural model centered on expanding contract farming networks and strengthening ties with local producers to contribute to the agricultural development of the province.

Following this, an MOU was signed to establish a long-term cooperative framework for production, processing, and quality improvement, aimed at strengthening fair and high-quality partnerships with local producers. The signing ceremony was widely reported by official Vietnamese government media and major newspapers, attracting significant interest as a symbolic initiative in public-private partnership.

Background and Speech Content

Operating under the philosophy of 'Farm to Table,' HOLUS and AGRIEX conduct business primarily in Lam Dong Province. Currently, they produce safe and reliable frozen vegetables and frozen side dishes using Japanese agricultural expertise and quality control and freezing technologies, with approximately 2,000 contracted farmers and 700 employees.

In his speech, Representative Abe emphasized that while aiming to become the 'largest vegetable company in Asia' in the long term, his most important mission is 'maximizing farmers' income and creating sustainable jobs.' He made the following four proposals to the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee:

1. Construction of an Agricultural Experimental Farm He requested cooperation in establishing a proprietary test farm to verify next-generation agricultural models that adapt Japanese technology to Vietnamese land and could eventually be expanded across Vietnam.

2. Expansion of the Producer Network and Contribution to the Local Community He proposed expanding the network with a view to eventually partnering with up to 10,000 producers, thereby contributing to stable sales opportunities and increased farmer incomes.

3. Organic Fertilizer Project Promoting Eco-Circular Agriculture He requested government support for land acquisition to promote the composting of organic waste, such as vegetable scraps from factories, to realize 'circular agriculture' that balances environmental impact reduction and soil improvement.

4. Adaptive Trials of Superior Varieties and Establishment of 'Vietnamese Agricultural Technology' He proposed a smooth process for the introduction and testing of superior original varieties (seeds/seedlings) suited to the local land and climate. The goal is to move away from perpetual dependence on imports and instead deeply root 'Vietnamese seeds and Vietnamese agricultural technology' through continuous local improvement.
