L&F Corp. (Headquarters: Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture; Representative Director: Hisazumi Mori), which operates 'Nihon Akiya Support,' has designated May 26th, the date the Vacant House Special Measures Act was fully enforced, as 'Vacant House Future Awareness Day.' Each year, the company conducts awareness surveys. This year, they surveyed 350 people who have sold vacant houses within the past 10 years regarding their knowledge of legal systems and challenges during the sale process.
The survey revealed that clearing out belongings (44.3%), concerns regarding costs (40.6%), and the burden of managing distant properties are major barriers to selling. Regarding awareness of legal systems, while 76.8% of respondents indicated they have some knowledge, including those who said they 'vaguely know,' a gap was identified where 38.6% were unaware of the special exemption for capital gains on inherited vacant houses of up to 30 million yen.
