First 'e-spo GOMI in Okayama' Held! Winner: Grop Sincerite

'e-spo GOMI in Okayama,' organized by Hitomy Inc. (Niimi, Okayama Prefecture; President: Sho Takigawa) and managed by the e-spo GOMI Organizing Committee, was held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Grop Sincerite Co., Ltd. (Okayama City). A total of 12 people across four teams participated, competing to collect trash within a time limit, with points awarded based on the weight and type of waste collected.

'e-spo GOMI' is an environmental conservation event that blends 'e-sports'—competitive video gaming—with 'Spo GOMI,' which adds a sporting element to litter picking. Teams of three work together to collect as much trash as possible within the time limit.

This event was initiated by Hitomy Inc., a company focused on regional recruitment support and regional revitalization, based in Niimi, Okayama. The initiative reflects their commitment to 'changing local work styles and connecting to regional revitalization.' The event aims to expand community-rooted activities within Okayama Prefecture, the base of the company and the hometown of President Takigawa.

Throughout the day, participants strategized while scavenging for trash around the venue. A 'Puyo Puyo e-sports' tournament was held during halftime. By combining physical cleanup with gaming, the event provided an opportunity for participants to think about the local environment while enjoying themselves, even with strangers.
