The Japan Contents Blockchain Initiative (JCBI) and Mawari Inc. (Mawari) have announced the establishment of the 'AI, Spatial Computing, and Decentralized Infrastructure Committee,' in collaboration with JCBI member companies, to anticipate the widespread adoption of smart glasses and spatial computing.
Background: The Future Where 3D Assets Possess a 'Brain' (AI)
With the evolution of spatial computing (XR), digital content has transcended mere visual '3D data' to have a physical presence in real space. Looking ahead, a future awaits where 'XR (visual body)' and 'AI (brain)' are highly integrated.
When advanced 3D content equipped with both 'body' and 'brain' is distributed globally, the construction of an infrastructure that guarantees authenticity and ensures revenue returns to the appropriate rights holders is a prerequisite for the Japanese content industry to take leadership in the spatial economy.
This project integrates the 'digital copyright management standardization' being advanced by JCBI at the ISO with the 'real-time interactive delivery infrastructure' that Mawari boasts. Its objective is to simultaneously provide a 'trusted rights foundation' and a 'lag-free experience' for next-generation content where AI and XR converge.
Role: Fostering 'Trust' and 'Commercialization' of Next-Generation Content
JCBI AI, Spatial Computing, and Decentralized Infrastructure Committee (Rights Standardization & Trust) We are examining methods for managing rights relations on the blockchain for next-generation content that combines 3D data (body) and the AI algorithms that control it (brain). Through this committee, we aim to build a 'foundation of trust' compliant with ISO/TC307 international standards, where rights holders can securely provide their assets to next-generation infrastructure.
Mawari (Infrastructure & Commercialization) We provide 'ARAWA,' utilizing patented spatial streaming technology that processes complex 'brain' (AI) calculations and high-definition 'body' (XR) rendering instantly in the cloud, delivering them to devices worldwide with ultra-low latency. By streaming bidirectional, interactive experiences in real-time, we act like a nervous system, ensuring content with guaranteed rights 'behaves correctly and smoothly' in space while achieving reliable monetization.
Joint Demonstration Experiment Plan
We will verify the distribution model for next-generation content using 3D digital assets across three phases.
Phase 1: Construction of a composite asset rights management prototype. Engraving the authenticity of 3D data on the blockchain and building a management system based on ISO standards.
Phase 2: Verification of real-time interactive distribution. Using Mawari's delivery infrastructure, we will verify a mechanism where authenticated 3D assets are stably streamed to wearable devices while reacting instantly to user movements (interactivity).
Phase 3: Establishment of a social implementation model through decentralized infrastructure. By leveraging low-cost and high-efficiency computing resource supply via decentralized infrastructure, we will propose an ecosystem where 3D content operates and generates revenue autonomously to the government and industry.
Future Outlook: Towards a Future Where Japanese IP Shines in 'Smart Glasses'
Through the activities of this 'AI, Spatial Computing, and Decentralized Infrastructure Committee,' we will consider how to maximize the value of Japanese IP in the smart glasses era. We aim to co-create a future where next-generation content that merges 'appearance (XR)' and 'intelligence (AI)' moves dynamically in real-time within spaces around the world, allowing creators and rights holders to continue receiving just compensation, balancing 'trust and speed.'
