MG-DX Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Norio Domae; hereinafter 'the Company'), a medical AI company and consolidated subsidiary of CyberAgent, Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Takahiro Yamauchi; Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market, Securities Code: 4751), announces that, as a concrete initiative based on the conclusion of a strategic partnership with EM Systems Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yodogawa-ku, Osaka City; Representative Director, President and CEO: Hiroaki Kunimitsu; hereinafter 'EM Systems'), it has begun integration between its AI-SaaS 'Yakkyubin' series, which supports the creation of next-generation pharmacies, and the receipt computer (hereinafter 'recon') for dispensing pharmacies provided by EM Systems.
Through this integration, prescription image data scanned by the AI unmanned reception of the Company's 'Yakkyubin' will be automatically stored in a designated folder. Furthermore, prescription information read by AI-OCR or other means will be automatically transferred to EM Systems' recon as data based on the JAHIS standard format. This reduces the burden on pharmacy staff of switching between multiple system screens to check information and manually inputting prescription data, simultaneously achieving 'efficiency of reception work,' 'smooth data management,' and 'prevention of input errors.'
Background
Against the backdrop of pharmacist and staff shortages and revisions to dispensing fees, drugstores and dispensing pharmacies face an urgent need for efficient store operation with limited personnel and labor-saving measures. To solve these issues and achieve both improved pharmacist productivity and enhanced patient convenience, the Company and EM Systems agreed to conclude a strategic partnership in March 2025 and have been working towards providing a next-generation 'Labor-Saving Store Operation Solution' for drugstores and dispensing pharmacies.
In conventional pharmacy operations, the unmanned reception system and the recon were separated, posing challenges such as the burden on staff for scanning prescriptions and checking multiple screens, along with the associated risk of input errors. This integration aims to eliminate this system separation and significantly reduce the workload at pharmacy sites.
Main Integration Functions
Immediate transfer of prescription images read by AI unmanned reception When a prescription is scanned by the AI unmanned reception of 'Yakkyubin,' the image data of the scanned prescription is automatically stored in a designated folder. Pharmacy staff can check the scanned prescription images anytime from the recon screen or their own terminals.
Transfer of JAHIS data to EM Systems' recon Prescription information read from 2D code data or by AI-OCR is output as JAHIS data and seamlessly transmitted to EM Systems' recon.
Expected Effects of This Integration
Elimination of confirmation burden from switching between multiple screens through centralized information management Pharmacy staff can reduce the hassle of checking reception and prescription information across multiple systems, enabling smooth information confirmation and management centered on the recon.
Reduction of time from reception to start of dispensing, prevention of manual input errors By reducing the need for visual confirmation and manual input of prescription information, the workflow from reception to the start of dispensing becomes smoother, reducing the workload on pharmacy staff. It also contributes to preventing input errors caused by manual entry, reducing oversight, and improving the efficiency of management tasks.
Future Outlook
The Company will continue to strengthen its partnership with EM Systems and accelerate the social implementation of the 'Labor-Saving Store Operation Solution,' which seamlessly connects data from reception to medication guidance, medicine receipt, and payment. Through the fusion of AI technology and core systems, the Company aims to evolve pharmacy operations to be simpler and more efficient, build an environment where pharmacists can focus on face-to-face duties, and create a next-generation pharmacy experience for patients that is more comfortable, easier to understand, and involves shorter waiting times.
