Rella's Comment

"Following my involvement in 'Miku the Courtesan,' I am honored once again to collaborate on a project blending ukiyo-e with Hatsune Miku.

Just like with 'Miku the Courtesan,' I focused on digitally recreating the original artwork’s brushwork and the texture of woodblock printing. This time, I’ve also reimagined official Piapro Characters costumes based on elements drawn from Hokusai’s masterpieces.

Thank you for your continued support."

Adachi Foundation for the Preservation of Traditional Woodblock Printing

Traditional Japanese woodblock printing is a unique printing technique that Japan can proudly present to the world. However, due to the advancement of other printing technologies and a decline in skilled artisans, its survival is at risk. The Adachi Foundation for the Preservation of Traditional Woodblock Printing was established in 1994 with approval from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and became a public interest foundation under the jurisdiction of the Cabinet Office in 2013. Based in Mejiro, Tokyo, the foundation operates a permanent exhibition space and is dedicated to training successors and promoting public awareness. In recent years, it has actively collaborated with contemporary artists both in Japan and abroad, striving to share the charm of traditional woodblock printing with the world. The foundation’s parent organization is Adachi Woodblock Print Institute, a woodblock studio and publisher founded in 1928.
