RICOS (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yu Ihara) announced today that it has begun a joint evaluation of its AI-CAE solution with Obayashi Corporation (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toshimi Sato). Obayashi has started testing wind load predictions on buildings using RICOS's AI-CAE solution, 'RICOS Lightning,' which leverages advanced machine learning technology.
Traditionally, wind load evaluation involves wind tunnel experiments or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), both of which face challenges with long analysis times when examining multiple wind directions and building shapes. This evaluation aims to utilize RICOS Lightning to enable multi-faceted condition studies in a short timeframe, streamlining the design process.
Key features of the proprietary 'IsoGCN' algorithm in RICOS Lightning include: 1. Speed: Significant reduction in computational load compared to traditional simulations. 2. 3D Data Handling: Ability to capture complex 3D shapes in detail. 3. Extrapolation Capability: Reliable results for entirely new product shapes by incorporating fluid, thermal, and structural analysis methods. 4. Ease of Use: Eliminates the need for strict meshing tasks, allowing non-experts like designers to utilize simulations effectively.
RICOS has a track record of reducing simulation times from several days to just a few minutes while maintaining accuracy. The technology is already being applied in automotive aerodynamics, thermal analysis of electronic components, and gas thermal-fluid analysis. RICOS aims to realize a world where optimal performance can be designed instantaneously across all manufacturing sectors.
