On Friday, October 9, 2026, 'YOKABAN in Kego Shrine' will be held at Kego Shrine, located in the heart of Fukuoka's Tenjin district.

YOKABAN is an experiential event named after the Kagoshima dialect phrase 'yokaban,' meaning 'a good night.' It brings together music, tea, shochu, food, handmade crafts, and the atmosphere of the land.

Having previously been held in Fukuoka, Tokyo, Nagasaki, Osaka, Kyoto, and other locations, YOKABAN has created unique one-night experiences by embracing the history and spatial character of each venue.

This time, the stage is Kego Shrine in central Fukuoka—marking YOKABAN's first outdoor event.

Performers include keyboardist and composer Kazuha Izawa, Ryosuke Nagao—the vocalist and guitarist of Petrolz—and Tab Zombie, trumpeter of SOIL&"PIMP"SESSIONS and also a founding member of YOKABAN.

At the historic shrine grounds, music, Kagoshima tea, shochu, and food will gently blend together, creating a special, one-night-only 'yokaban.'

A Night of Music at the Heart of Tenjin

Kego Shrine is located in Tenjin, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City—a unique place where the city's vibrancy meets the tranquility of a sacred space.

In addition to the main live performances, YOKABAN in Kego Shrine will feature a pre-opening from 16:00, offering a space where visitors can enjoy limited-edition food and drinks, Kagoshima tea, and shochu even before the concert begins. A wide selection of non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for those who do not consume alcohol.

Whether you're dropping by after work, coming for the music, or drawn by the local flavors, the event aims to create a night where different ways of spending time overlap at the heart of Fukuoka's Tenjin district.

From Kyoto to Fukuoka: YOKABAN's New Challenge

In May 2026, 'YOKABAN in Kyoto' was held at Kamishichiken Buyojo, a filming location for the movie 'National Treasure.' In the historic setting of Kyoto's oldest geisha district, the event delivered an immersive experience where music, tea, shochu, and garden spaces came together.

For this Fukuoka performance, YOKABAN continues that momentum while taking on the challenge of its first outdoor event.

In Kyoto, it was 'experiencing YOKABAN within a traditional space'; in Fukuoka, it will be 'YOKABAN held at the heart of the city'—each venue shaping a uniquely different night.
