About Trunk Room 'Spelab'

Spelab operates over 700 stores and 22,000 units of indoor trunk rooms (rental storage spaces), primarily in Tokyo and Osaka.

Amid rising real estate prices, living spaces in urban areas are limited, and homes are becoming more compact. However, cherished items filled with memories, such as hobby equipment, seasonal clothes, Hina dolls, or Christmas trees used only a few times a year, do not disappear.

To solve such unique urban problems, the 'Spelab' trunk room was born.

Furthermore, by renovating properties that remain unrented for long periods into trunk rooms, we also hope to contribute to solving the social problem of vacant houses, which are said to number 800,000 units.

'Spelab' trunk rooms offer non-face-to-face viewing (by appointment), with contracts and cancellations completed entirely online. In response to contactless and non-face-to-face needs that emerged with the COVID-19 pandemic, we have adopted online applications, inspired by customers who wished to use the service immediately. *We use smart locks and dial keys, so there is no need to pick up a physical key.

Feature 2: Fastest Use in 1 Hour from Application

Busy business people in metropolitan areas often face sudden transfers, overseas assignments, or business trips, requiring immediate storage space for their belongings. To meet such needs, we have simplified the application and contract process as much as possible, allowing use as soon as credit card payment is completed. Additionally, since the keys used are smart locks and dial keys, not physical keys, there is no hassle of picking them up.

Feature 3: Secure Double Security & Surveillance System

Trunk rooms are places where your important belongings are entrusted. Each room is private, and both the entrance and individual rooms are equipped with locks, ensuring a secure double-lock system. Furthermore, surveillance cameras are installed in the corridors within the trunk rooms. *Currently, there have been no cases of theft.
