SIDEBASE Co., Ltd. (Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture) will begin rolling out the 'Manufacturing Experience Program', planned and technically supervised by Shuhei Mori, Representative of Mori Welding Studio. The program combines stainless steel cup heat tinting and laser welding experiences.

This program is an experiential content package. By visiting venues at companies, municipalities, universities, technical colleges, industrial high schools, and vocational schools, it provides participants with the opportunity to touch metal with their own hands, add color, weld, and complete a one-of-a-kind work.

Organizers only need to provide an event space and a 200V power supply. The operating side will bring laser welding machines, positioners, small gas torches, and the materials and supplies necessary for production, implementing the experience safely according to the venue conditions (cooperation is requested for providing desks, etc.).

Moving forward, the program will expand to corporate events, recruitment PR, career education at technical schools, and local industry promotion projects by municipalities and commerce organizations. While dispatch-style events are the standard, it is also possible to host the experience at Mori Welding Studio depending on the content and number of people.

As part of its activities to support motorsports, Mori Welding Studio planned a day trip tour for supporters to experience the city of Suzuka and its manufacturing sites. On the day of the event, participants experienced tinting a stainless steel cup and attaching a handle with their own hands using a laser welding machine. Even using the same materials, the finish varies depending on how the flame is applied, the duration, and hand movements. Participants completed their own works with unique colors and shapes.

This program is primarily designed as a dispatch service. As a general rule, organizers only need to prepare an implementation space and a 200V power supply. SIDEBASE Co., Ltd. and Mori Welding Studio will prepare the laser welding machine, positioner, small gas torch, stainless steel cup materials used for production, handle components, and other necessary equipment and materials. Therefore, organizers such as companies, municipalities, and schools can introduce an authentic manufacturing experience at their own venues without newly preparing large-scale facilities or specialized materials. When implementing outdoors, considering the effects of weather and wind, we may request the installation of tents or windbreaks.
