Background of Development

Leakage of contents from agitator tanks in chemical and pharmaceutical plants, etc., is an extremely serious risk that can lead not only to major accidents such as environmental pollution and fires but also to enormous losses due to operational shutdowns.

Many of these leakage troubles are caused by human error, such as "forgetting to tighten," "loosening due to insufficient tightening," or "uneven tightening" of the bolts that secure the tank lid.

Furthermore, the tightening force of screws cannot be visually confirmed, and the structure has a problem in that it is impossible to know if secure fastening has been achieved.

In recent years, labor shortages have become increasingly severe in the manufacturing industry, and the transfer of skills from experienced workers familiar with screw tightening operations and securing maintenance personnel are major challenges for the entire industry. While stricter safety management is required, it is now an urgent task to simultaneously achieve "labor and personnel saving" and "elimination of reliance on individual expertise" in operations.

Against this backdrop, Ikekin has developed the "DTI Swing Bolt Set," which allows "anyone to securely fasten" tank lids "by visual confirmation" without special skills or experience.

01 Confirm proper tightening of each bolt while observing color changes

In conventional structures, forgetting to tighten or insufficient tightening force occurred because the tightening status could not be recognized. This system makes it obvious at a glance, with the bolt head colored red when loose and black when properly tightened, allowing anyone, not just experienced workers, to achieve secure tightening. It also leads to labor savings during regular maintenance, as only loose parts need to be retightened.

02 The bolt presses the lid straight down, equalizing pressure

Conventional structures made it difficult to reproduce uniform tightening due to the inability to correct the angle. However, this system uses a special spacer to reliably correct the angle to vertical, thereby equalizing pressure across the entire lid.

03 Can be opened and closed without disassembly, eliminating the risk of lost parts

In conventional structures, nuts, washers, and eye nuts for lifting had to be disassembled each time the lid was opened or closed, creating a risk of dropping or losing parts and increasing labor. This system contributes to labor savings for lid maintenance that requires frequent opening and closing, as it eliminates the need for disassembly each time. This is achieved through a bolt detachment prevention mechanism, an integrated flange shape that eliminates the need for washers to relieve surface pressure, and by fixing the spacer section to the lid.
