Watanabe Sharyo Kogyo Co., Ltd., based in Neyagawa, Osaka, has developed precision acrylic models of iconic transit vehicles. The release commemorates the 60th anniversary of Nara Kotsu's retro bonnet buses in 2026. The lineup also features the Hino Blue Ribbon No. 581, the last surviving 3-door bus in Japan. Originating from a decline in the company's core railway cleaning business during the pandemic, the "3D Acden" and "3D Acbus" series recreate historical transport vehicles. Developed under the supervision of transit companies, these models capture fine vehicle features in detailed, three-dimensional acrylic. Four models will be launched on June 7, 2026: mid-size and small versions of both the bonnet bus and the Hino Blue Ribbon. Prices range from 2,530 to 3,850 yen (tax included). They will be sold on the company's official online shop "acphoto" and Tokai Market. Through these highly detailed replicas, Watanabe Sharyo Kogyo aims to preserve the legacy of regional transport and share transit history with younger generations.
