The Setouchi City Library in Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture, announces that it will hold Momiwa Seminar Vol. 87, "For a Society that Respects Human Rights ~Learning from the Hansen's Disease Issue~," as detailed below, on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Background and Objectives of the Seminar Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture, is home to two national Hansen's disease sanatoria: Nagashima Aiseien and Okuyukari Light Garden. For this event, Mr. Tomohisa Tamura from the Nagashima Aiseien History Museum will provide an explanation of the Hansen's disease issue and human rights challenges.

The aim is to provide an opportunity to think about the state of "human rights" in society from a broad perspective, considering Hansen's disease and its history.
