Okayama's Largest-Ever Market: 'HARENOBA MARCHE' to Launch in Setouchi City

Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture, will launch its first large-scale market, 'HARENOBA MARCHE' (Hareno-ba Marche), on Saturday, June 27, 2026, organized by a regional revitalization officer serving as the 'founding producer' of large-scale markets.

Approximately 100 vendors will participate, offering gourmet food made from local ingredients, curated retail goods, and workshops for families to enjoy together. We welcome you and your loved ones to attend.

Background and Purpose of the Event

Currently, small to medium-sized monthly markets such as the Bizen-Fukuda Market and the Tomo-no-Ura Yacht Harbor morning market are held across the city. However, there has been no large-scale market, nor any market held in the city center. To address this, in January 2026 (Reiwa 8), the city appointed a regional revitalization officer to launch a large-scale market utilizing municipal land near JR Ikku Station.

Starting in fiscal year 2027 (Reiwa 9), the officer will organize and operate large-scale markets at least once a month, as well as other major events, to promote urban development that attracts visitors from within and outside the city.

※ Visitors using the city-operated bus will receive a 'free city bus ticket' redeemable for their return trip.
