AMDA (Association for Medical Doctors of Asia), a nonprofit organization headquartered in Okayama City and led by President Takushi Sato, operates under the motto "We will go anywhere to save lives." In response to the earthquake that struck Venezuela on June 24, 2026, AMDA dispatched a team of four medical personnel—President Sato (a physician), one nurse, and two doctors from AMDA Peru—to provide emergency medical relief.
President Sato, who returned to Japan on July 14, will hold a public report session on Thursday, July 16, at 12:30 PM.
Due to the severity of the disaster, AMDA has decided to dispatch an additional physician and nurse. The nurse, scheduled to depart on July 17, will attend the July 16 report meeting.
The report session is open to the public. Attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 20 people; no prior registration is required.
