NPO Niranjana Sewasanga (Location: Osaka Prefecture, Representative Director: Junpei Yamamoto) will hold the "India Study Tour 2026" from September 20 (Sun) to 28 (Mon), 2026, for nine days, allowing participants to experience the reality of educational sites and rural areas in India and think deeply about international cooperation. This tour marks the first time in 10 years (※since 2016) that our organization has held such an event since 2016.
In conjunction with this, an online preliminary briefing session will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Background: Experiencing the "Real" with All Five Senses, Now More Than Ever, as It Cannot Be Conveyed Through Screens
We live in an era where we can view videos from around the world on a single smartphone. However, the atmosphere of a place, the sparkle in children's eyes, the energy, and the seriousness of the challenges faced can never be truly conveyed through a screen.
This study tour, brought to you by Niranjana Sewasanga after a 10-year hiatus, is not just a sightseeing trip. It is a special "extraordinary experience" that allows access to impoverished areas in India, which individuals could never enter on their own, and which only our organization, with its long-standing activities on the ground, can guide participants through.
"3 Unique Features and Appeals" of This Tour
Closely Involved with Local NGOs: Become a "Teacher" at a Village Elementary School Where Individuals Cannot Reach
Visit a real village elementary school, not a tourist spot. In consultation with local teachers and NGO staff beforehand, participants will plan and implement lessons for the children themselves. You can experience international cooperation as a "stakeholder," not a passive observer.
Overwhelming Sense of Involvement: Experience the Reality of Village Life and Education, and Engage with People Wholeheartedly
Delve deep into rural India and experience firsthand the lives and educational realities of the people who live there. This experience of connecting with local people heart-to-heart, transcending language barriers, will profoundly shake participants' values.
Lifelong Bonds: Seriously Discuss the Future with Peers of the Same Age Who Share Similar Interests and Aspirations
Participants gathered from all over the country are peers who have strong aspirations, such as "interested in international cooperation" or "want to change myself." With a small group size (recruiting 8 people), you can meet lifelong friends through daily debriefings, engaging in serious discussions late into the night.
Support System for First-Timers and Solo Travelers (From Q&A)
Q. Is it okay to participate alone? ── Most participants join alone. You can get to know each other beforehand through online sessions before departure, and by the time you return, you will have become the best of friends.
Q. This is my first time traveling abroad... ── We conduct thorough preparation sessions before departure. You can leave with any minor anxieties resolved in advance.
Q. I'm not good at English... ── Niranjana staff will accompany you at all times, and there are Japanese interns on-site, so even those with concerns about language proficiency can participate with peace of mind.

Project Leader: Nakayama
From Project Planning Leader Nakayama:
It is often said that "going to India changes your perspective," but this depends on what kind of encounters and learning you actively seek. This program is perfect for those who are interested in international cooperation but don't know where to start, or those who want to challenge themselves with overseas volunteer work. While India is rapidly developing, there are still children and their families in Bodh Gaya and many other regions who need support. I want participants to look beyond simply feeling "pity" for their situation and also to turn their attention to the underlying social issues and history. Won't you join us in thinking about what kind of "support" is truly necessary for them, and what "we can do"?
From Representative Director Yamamoto:
I am extremely delighted to be able to hold the India Study Tour again after 2016. When I was a student, many people probably had going to developing countries with a backpack as one of the things they wanted to do during their student years. While it is very meaningful that we can now do various things online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I believe that nothing can move your emotions like actually visiting and seeing the real situation firsthand and hearing stories. It's unlikely that many people would go to India or Bihar state alone. Please take this opportunity to apply.
