Human Care NPO (Fussa City, Tokyo) will hold an "Activity Introduction & Briefing Session" on Sunday, July 26, 2026, to commemorate the first anniversary of the opening of the free school "Kakashi." The event will be held in a hybrid format at the Fussa City Kagayaki Citizen Support Center and online (Zoom).

This briefing session will introduce the activities undertaken over the past year, supported by local residents, volunteers, and supporters, showcasing how the children have grown. We will also share our future outlook.

"School is not the only place for children."

As the number of children who find it difficult to attend school increases year by year, the need for "a place where children can feel safe and be themselves" is growing.

With the concept of "a place that supports children's desire to try new things!", the free school "Kakashi" continues to engage in activities that foster connections with the community, while valuing each child's feelings and individuality, not just academic support. We aim to create an environment where children can smile and step forward into the future as a "second place" separate from school and home.

One year since opening. The children's smiles have increased.

Since opening, we have continuously provided:

* Support for school homework * Learning support tailored to each individual * Seasonal experiential activities * Intergenerational exchange with local residents, creating a safe place to spend time

Opportunities for children to smile and say "I did it!" and "I want to come again!" have gradually increased, and the place is becoming recognized in the community as a space that fosters confidence and self-esteem.

Briefing session to introduce one year of activities

Towards a Society that Supports Children as a Whole Community

Children are the future of our community.

Free school "Kakashi" aims to realize a "community-based society" where children are supported by the connections of many, not just educational institutions, but also local residents, companies, volunteers, and government.

We hope that through this briefing session, participants will deepen their understanding of our activities and that new connections will be made with as many people as possible.
