Seminar Overview The NPO Diverse Learning Project (Representative Director: Chisato Ikoma) will hold an online seminar titled "Small Steps Can Change Society: How to Begin Administrative Collaboration to Expand School Refusal Support" on Saturday, May 30, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM.
As the number of children experiencing school refusal increases, more municipalities are expanding subsidy systems for alternative learning environments like free schools. However, significant disparities in support systems persist across different regions. In response to parents asking how to effectively make their voices heard by the government, this seminar will feature guest speakers who have successfully advocated for policy changes and institutional support at their local municipalities.
Seminar Content - Concrete steps for administrative collaboration - Effective advocacy methods for parents and citizens - Case studies that led to institutionalization - Points for growing a network of supporters in your region - Tips for starting with small actions
