[About the Specified Non-Profit Corporation Japan Life Design Counselor Association (JLCA)]

The Specified Non-Profit Corporation Japan Life Design Counselor Association (hereinafter referred to as JLCA) was established in January 2007. At the time of its establishment, the number of consultations received by the National Consumer Affairs Center regarding marriage introduction services, so-called marriage agencies, was approximately 3,000, and there was significant concern about the decline in the industry's credibility. In this context, JLCA began issuing certifications for the "Maruteki Mark" based on the "Guidelines for the Certification System of Marriage Introduction Services" as a third-party certification body in December 2008. The number of certified businesses, which was initially 176, has grown to approximately 610 as of March 2025. Through its certification business for issuing the "Maruteki Mark" and its training programs for marriage agencies, JLCA contributes to further improving the credibility of the marriage introduction service industry and is working to fulfill its social mission of contributing to the safe and secure matchmaking for consumers seeking marriage.
