"The 32nd Hydrangea Festival and the 35th International Gathering"

In coordination with the blooming of hydrangeas, the annual "Hydrangea Festival and International Gathering" will be held on Sunday, June 14th. The event will feature various activities allowing visitors to enjoy the vibrant hydrangeas while feeling the vitality of the community.

Date and Time Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Venue Nakahara Park (commonly known as Ajisai Park) (2-13-1 Shin-Sayama, Sayama City)

Activities Various attractions including taiko drumming, dancing, and musical performances; food stalls offering yakitori, hydrangea steamed buns, Indian and Nepalese curry; operation of a mini steam locomotive; and an exciting corner by the nursery school.

Best time to see hydrangeas Early to late June

Location Nakahara Park (commonly known as Ajisai Park), 2-13-1 Shin-Sayama, Sayama City

*No parking available; please use public transportation or nearby coin parking.

[By Train] Get off at "Shin-Sayama Station" on the Seibu Shinjuku Line, about a 5-minute walk from the north exit.

Flowering status (photo taken on June 4, 2026) Due to late frost in 2026, there are fewer flower buds than usual.

Supported by the passion of the "Ajisai Support Team" The hydrangeas in the park are cared for by the local volunteer group "Shin-Sayama Ajisai Support Team". They devote love to each hydrangea plant throughout the year, including pruning, fertilizing, and cleaning the surrounding area.
