For us, 'language' is not merely a communication tool, but deeply intertwined with family, social connections, and personal identity.
This event features a screening of the film 'Hazama – Searching for a Space for Our Mother Tongue,' which explores language among second-generation immigrants, followed by a dialogue between young people with multicultural backgrounds and the film’s director, Kiho Park.
Through diverse perspectives and personal experiences, we will reflect on the relationship between 'language' and 'roots,' as well as connections with Japanese society.
