Tenjin 1-chome 761 Project LLC (a special purpose company consisting of Fukuoka Chisho Co., Ltd., Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc., and Craftia Co., Ltd.) and Fukuoka Chisho Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Representative Director and President Eiraku Ichiro) will open an incubation facility 'Fukuoka Innovation Lab.Tenjin (Fukuoka Innovation Lab. Tenjin), abbreviated as 'FIL.Tenjin'' (hereinafter referred to as 'the facility') in the Tenjin Business Center II (hereinafter referred to as 'the property') currently under construction in the 'Tenjin Big Bang' area.

This facility is an incubation facility specializing in deep tech that accompanies the business development of startups. By establishing a base within the property where diverse companies are concentrated, it promotes daily interaction and collaboration among tenant companies and supports the growth of startups and the creation of opportunities for collaboration among business companies.

What is 'Fukuoka Innovation Lab.'?

While the emergence of 'Deep Tech Startups' that bring significant ripple effects to society is expected, there is a major challenge in that the 'places' for considering business development are scattered, and collaboration among various players such as startups, universities/research institutions, business companies, and support organizations is difficult to progress. It is necessary to consistently support from specific problem setting, technology verification using the demonstration field of business companies, to final social implementation, with each player interacting beyond the barriers of their affiliations.

Fukuoka Chisho, under the concept of 'A hub where innovative technologies shine and are born like light from the heated exchange of knowledge and ideas, and we will transmit from Fukuoka to Asia and then to the world,' opened a deep tech-focused (life science field) incubation facility 'Fukuoka Innovation Lab. Kyushu University Hospital' (hereinafter referred to as 'FIL. Kyushu University Hospital') in January 2026. This facility is the second hub following 'FIL. Kyushu University Hospital'.

While the preceding FIL. Kyushu University Hospital is a hub for concentrated research support specializing in the 'life science field', this facility is an urban hub targeting deep tech fields other than the life science field, such as 'space, AI, semiconductors, energy, robotics, and agriculture'.

Fukuoka Chisho will promote the formation of a deep tech ecosystem originating from Kyushu and Fukuoka using these two hubs as dual wheels and accelerate the social implementation of innovative technologies.

Features of the Facility

1. Convenient Central Location

The facility will establish a base in the property scheduled to open in August 2026, with easy access to the underground direct connection to the 'Tenjin' station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line, and also from Hakata Station and Fukuoka Airport. The point that it is easy to set up a place for gathering, interaction, and creation for each player such as startups, universities/research institutions, business companies, and support organizations is a major advantage.

2. Diverse Workplaces

In addition to providing a variety of workplaces, including shared offices (10 rooms, 2-6 person rooms) available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and coworking spaces available from 9 AM to 9 PM on weekdays, 1on1 booths, soundproof phone booths, etc., it also provides rich services such as Wi-Fi and matching support.

3. Worker-Exclusive Shared Space 'Reboot!' Service Provision

Some of the tenants of the facility can use the worker-exclusive shared space 'Reboot!' for tenant companies within the property.

'Reboot!' is equipped with three functions: [Refresh Function] where you can rest or refresh during work with a conditioning gym, simulation golf, spa & sauna, nap room, etc., [Knowledge Function] that responds to various ways of working with meeting rooms, etc., and [Community Function] that activates communication beyond corporate barriers with cafe lounges, etc. It is possible to realize a healthy way of working that enhances creativity and well-being in a way that suits the tenants.

4. Business Development Support Functions to Drive the Deep Tech Ecosystem

This facility provides incubation functions that not only support deep tech startups but also resolve structural challenges faced by various stakeholders in industry, academia, and government, and strongly promote the social implementation of innovative seeds.

• Support Functions for Startups

By providing business development know-how, supporting the composition of CxO personnel, and strategically supporting patent and intellectual property acquisition, it reduces risks in the startup phase and prevents missed opportunities.

• Approach to Universities and Research Institutions

By filling the gap between technology research and business development, and through daily collaboration with business companies, it creates an open innovation hub aimed at the social implementation of research seeds.

• Approach to Business Companies

It provides a place for technology scouting to explore high-quality research seeds and builds organic contact points with university laboratories and advanced researchers, which were previously limited in access.

• Collaboration with VC and Support Organizations

It provides business development support functions with a view to scaling up and M&A exit strategies. It also plays the role of a 'translator (mediator)' between business companies and research seeds, and supports smooth fundraising and business growth.

• Collaboration with the Government

It jointly supports policy recommendations and efforts for regulatory relaxation toward the promotion of the deep tech field, and the securing of demonstration fields. It contributes to the promotion of innovation policies and the activation of the regional economy by resolving structural challenges that hinder social implementation.
