Want to Operate a Yatai in Fukuoka? Recruiting Yatai Operators!

Fukuoka City is recruiting new yatai operators to maintain and develop its unique culture of having 100 food stalls in downtown streets and parks. Enthusiastic individuals are sought to inherit and enhance Fukuoka's yatai culture, which attracts tourists from Japan and abroad.

Fukuoka City is the only city in Japan with 100 food stalls (yatai) in its downtown streets and parks! The unique scenery where yatai blend into the city, the close proximity to other customers, and the charming atmosphere attract many visitors from both Japan and abroad. We are currently recruiting operators for these yatai, which are a representative tourism resource of Fukuoka City. We look forward to applications from enthusiastic individuals who can further enhance the appeal of yatai and connect them to the future!

1. Application Period Until Monday, June 8, 2026 (Reiwa 8)

2. Recruitment Locations 23 plots (4 in Nakasu North, 5 in Seiryu Park, 3 in Tenjin North, 4 in Tenjin Central, 5 in Tenjin South, 2 in Nagahama)

3. Business Start From April 2027 (Reiwa 9) *Regarding operation, there are rules such as operating personally and occupying hours. Please refer to the application guidelines for details.

4. Selection Method First screening (written examination) Second screening (document screening and interview)

5. Briefing Session on Yatai Operations ~Yatai Operator Talk Session~ A talk session will be held by operators who started yatai through public recruitment, aimed at those who want to start yatai operations or are interested in them. In addition to the appeal and rewards of yatai operations, they will share their real experiences, including the difficulties and ingenuity involved in preparation for opening and daily operations.

Location: Fukuoka Growth Next 1F Event Space (2-6-11 Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

6. Briefing Session on Public Recruitment This session will explain the key points and considerations for application procedures and selection methods.

Date: Sunday, May 17, 2026 (Reiwa 8), 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM

Location: Fukuoka City Hall 15F Auditorium (1-8-1 Tenjin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)
