Yamato Koriyama Taiga Drama Museum,' established in Yamato Koriyama—the city once governed by Hidetsugu as castle lord—has surpassed its target of 100,000 cumulative visitors today, September 3, 2026, approximately six months after its opening on March 2, 2026 (Monday).

Coincidentally, September 3 marks the historical anniversary of Hidetsugu's entry into Koriyama Castle. Reaching 100,000 visitors on this date, rich with historical connection to Hidetsugu, makes this milestone especially meaningful. To commemorate this achievement, a special ceremony was held today at 14:00, during which commemorative gifts were presented to visitors who attended on this significant day.

The museum is located on the first floor of the DMG MORI Yamato Koriyama Castle Hall, near Koriyama Castle. It opened on March 2, 2026—the date believed to be Hidetsugu's birthday—and will operate as a limited-time facility until January 22, 2027, the date of his passing. On July 24, 2026, the exhibition was significantly refreshed, adding popular props such as the 'Hiragumo' kettle and new costumes. 'Brothers Toyotomi! Yamato Koriyama Taiga Drama Museum' Reaches 100,000 Visitors in Just Six Months!

To celebrate the 100,000-visitor milestone, a commemorative ceremony was held today. During the ceremony, Mr. Kiyoshi Ueda, Chairman of the Hidetsugu Project Promotion Council and Mayor of Yamato Koriyama City, presented commemorative gifts—including local souvenirs from Nara Prefecture and Yamato Koriyama City—to Ms. Soyomi Watanabe, a visitor from Tokyo who attended on this special day. Mr. Ueda stated, 'Today is another wonderful day—September 3 marks the day in 1585 (Tensho 13) when Lord Hidetsugu entered Koriyama Castle alongside Hideyoshi, accompanied by 5,000 retainers. Since our goal was 100,000 visitors, achieving this in just six months is truly moving.' Ms. Watanabe expressed her delight: 'I came here by chance today, but I feel lucky to have been present for such a special occasion. Yamato Koriyama is great because the 'Taiga Drama Museum' is close to the castle, so I could visit both places at once, which was very convenient.'

On July 24, 2026, the museum completed its first major exhibition renewal, doubling the number of prop display cases from two to four and adding numerous valuable props and new costumes that appeared in iconic scenes of the drama. A second renewal is scheduled for early October, meaning this is the final opportunity to enjoy the current exhibition lineup.

The number of display cases has doubled from two to four, significantly expanding the collection of rare props from the drama.

On display are the 'Hiragumo' kettle, which appeared when Koichiro and Hideyoshi confronted Matsunaga Hisahide, and the 'Map of the Southern Court Treasure' featured in the same episode. Be sure to view these popular props up close.

Also on display are the bow and arrow used by Yoichiro during practice with his grandfather on the day he first met Koichiro (Episode 19), and the baby's blanket belonging to Koichiro and Chika's child (Episode 23). These items vividly convey the deep family bonds of Koichiro.
