Kinokawa City, Wakayama Prefecture (Mayor: Ken Kishimoto), has established the 'Kinokawa City Future Co-creation Partnership Guidelines' to serve as a framework for public-private collaboration. The goal is to tackle regional challenges by bringing together the know-how and technology of private businesses and higher education institutions. Concurrently, the city has set up a 'Future Co-creation Window' within the Planning and Management Division as a dedicated point of contact for public-private partnerships and has launched the 'Future Co-creation Private Proposal System' to solicit innovative ideas from the private sector. This initiative aims to promote 'co-creation,' where the city and private entities work as equal partners to generate new value in response to challenges such as population decline and aging public facilities.
