Wrapped Bus Featuring Hipopon, Yuzumin, and Popon Also Appears!

Nomi City began operating a "Nomi City Wrapped Bus" on July 1st to widely promote the city's attractions, with a departure ceremony held on June 30th. The bus is designed with Nomi City's official characters Hipopon, Yuzumin, and Popon, expressing the city's cheerful atmosphere and pleasant living environment. Along with the phrase "Let's spend time only in Nomi City," it features a dynamic line design in the three colors of the Nomi City emblem, symbolizing the city's bright future outlook!

About Hipopon, Yuzumin, and Popon

Hipopon, Yuzumin, and Popon were born in August 2017 as the image characters for the "Nomi Bus." The original design was created by the art club of Ishikawa Prefectural Terai High School. Since then, they have been widely loved by citizens and people outside the city, and were officially appointed as the city's characters with the opening of the Nomi Smart Interchange on March 25, 2018.

Hipopon

Hipopon (Hipopon)

A character based on the "Pygmy Hippopotamus," one of the world's three rarest mammals, found at the Ishikawa Zoo in Nomi City, and the Kaga Maruimo potato, a specialty of Nomi City. It wears a yuzu hat on its head.

Favorite things: Maruimo potatoes and yuzu. Personality: Laid-back and kind.

Yuzumin

Yuzumin (Yuzumin)

A character based on the Koshida yuzu, a specialty of Nomi City, wearing clothes with Kutani-yaki's five colors, inspired by the traditional craft of Kutani ware.

Favorite things: Yuzu and Kutani ware. Personality: Energetic and dependable!

Popon

Popon (Popon)

A character based on the "Pygmy Hippopotamus," one of the world's three rarest mammals, found at the Ishikawa Zoo in Nomi City, and the Kaga Maruimo potato, a specialty of Nomi City.

Favorite things: The zoo and Maruimo potatoes. Personality: Curious and hardworking.
