Location Oendan Komono (LOOK), a private film commission based in Komono Town, Mie Prefecture, will hold its filmmaking workshop, the '10th Komono Furusato Film School,' for three days from Friday, June 26 to Sunday, June 28, 2026.
The workshop aims to revitalize the local community by attracting film and TV drama locations. Participants from across the country will work together to create video pieces themed around the concept of 'furusato' (hometown).
### Background
The origins of this project date back to 2012, when director Naoki Segi produced the short film 'GOOD LUCK Koinusubi no Sato' set in Komono. This production inspired local residents to start the 'Film School' as a way to share the town's charm through their own eyes. For this milestone 10th edition, the school continues to provide a platform for participants to discover new value in the region through a camera lens, incorporating professional filmmaking perspectives.
