The "National Green and Flower Fair Katsushika," hosted by Katsushika City, reached its midpoint on Sunday, May 31, Reiwa 8, during its event period from May 16 to June 14.
On the final day of the first half, Saturday, May 30, actress Karen Otomo took the stage. She gave a talk about the plants she grows and her efforts in the 3Rs (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle), energizing the venue.
The second half is also full of highlights! - From May 30, the Hikifunegawa Shinsui Park Plaza Zone started. It offers an area surrounded by flowers where visitors can enjoy a relaxing time. It is popular for walks and photo shoots, as well as a rest spot after touring the city. - The irises are at their peak bloom. At the collaborating venues, Horikiri Shobu-en Garden (approx. 200 varieties, 6,000 plants) and Tokyo Metropolitan Mizumoto Park (100 varieties, 14,000 plants), the irises are in full bloom, creating a landscape that symbolizes early summer in Katsushika. Enjoy the irises, a symbol of Katsushika, along with the excitement of the concurrently held "Katsushika Iris Festival"! - Sports activities are being held! From Monday, June 1 to Friday, June 5, three types of activities—pitch putt golf (3 courses), strack out, and tunnel shoot—are available at the main venue, "Katsushika Niijuku Mirai Park." On Saturday, June 6, bubble soccer is also scheduled. (No advance registration required; same-day participation is possible.) - Relax and unwind with relaxation content while being soothed by flowers. In the Hikifunegawa Shinsui Park Plaza Zone, hammocks and other items will be set up on June 7-8 and June 13-14 to create a relaxing space. Please use it as a healing space along with the flower tea house. - Don't miss the various stage events held on weekends! In the final week of the fair, actress Hinami Mori and the comedy duo Shizuru are scheduled to appear. Even if you haven't visited Katsushika yet, please take this opportunity to come!
