Certified NPO Kaikaku Project is now accepting entries from individuals, companies, and organizations for 'WPM 2026,' a worldwide community contribution event to be held from Friday, August 1, 2026, to Monday, August 31, 2026.
WPM is an international campaign aimed at spreading 'Patorun' (Patrol Running) — the practice of monitoring local safety while running, walking, or picking up litter (star-picking). This year, in addition to individual participation, a new 'Corporate and Organizational Category' has been introduced, allowing companies to join as teams as part of their CSR initiatives, employee wellness programs, and team-building activities.

About WPM
One month to create safety and security in summer.
WPM (World Patorun Month) is a community contribution action that anyone can join, anytime and anywhere. Every step you take in daily life contributes to neighborhood safety. During the event, all participants carry out activities in their local areas, and the total distance run and activity time are aggregated to expand a global crime prevention network. At a time when summer vacation fitness and community safety awareness are rising, WPM proposes a new, accessible form of social contribution that anyone can sustain without strain.
A New Summer WPM: Individuals and Organizations Join Forces
While previous WPM events focused on individual participation, this year's campaign officially introduces a 'Corporate and Organizational Category' for team-based involvement. Entries are open until the last minute, welcoming not only individual runners but also companies seeking to advance sustainability (SDGs) and enhance internal communication.
<Benefits for Companies and Organizations>
• Easy-to-adopt summer SDGs and CSR activity:
No special equipment or venue is required. Employees’ daily exercise in their own locations directly contributes to community safety and beautification.
• Promoting health management and employee well-being:
Activities such as morning runs or evening walks help establish healthy lifestyle and exercise habits during the summer months.
• Strengthening team building and unity:
Forming teams within the company and working together toward a shared one-month goal boosts internal communication, even in remote work environments.
• Enhancing corporate value:
Through logo displays and activity reports, companies can communicate their commitment to community well-being both internally and externally.

Message from the Organizer
“The thought that lives could have been saved if Patorun had been there” — In the summer of 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Fukuoka Prefecture, where multiple young girls drowned while playing in a river. We were deeply shocked, realizing that if Patorun participants had been present, they could have called out and watched over the children. This incident led us to strongly reconsider our mission: “Isn’t the true purpose of patrol not just crime deterrence through a 'watchful eye,' but rather a 'warm eye' ready to immediately lend a hand when something happens?” This shift in perspective has fundamentally reshaped our direction. Our goal with Patorun is to be present nearby and extend a helping hand within 180 seconds when an incident occurs.
