Established the "Morigyo Award" to honor individuals, companies, local governments, NPOs, etc. engaged in "Morigyo." Widely seeking "Morigyo" initiatives from across the country.

The Forestry Agency is establishing the Morigyo Award with the aim of deepening public understanding of Morigyo and promoting its further expansion by recognizing and publicizing companies, local governments, NPOs, and others engaged in Morigyo. Applications for initiatives aligned with the Morigyo concept will be accepted from today until August 28, Reiwa 8 (Friday), so please apply enthusiastically.

1. Purpose

"Morigyo" refers to initiatives that leverage the socio-economic and environmental value of forests, such as forest bathing and trail riding utilizing forest spaces, providing fields for forestry experience and corporate training, and utilizing J-Credits and unused resources. These initiatives are expected to create and expand related populations, improve well-being, and diversify income sources in forest management, demonstrating the significant potential of Morigyo. The Morigyo Award aims to deepen public understanding of Morigyo and promote its further expansion by recognizing and publicizing companies, local governments, NPOs, and others engaged in Morigyo.

2. Application Period

From July 7, Reiwa 8 (Tuesday) to August 28, Reiwa 8 (Friday) until 5:00 PM

4. How to Apply

Applicants shall complete the application form posted on the following URL (Forestry Agency "Morigyo Portal") with the necessary information, attach photos etc. that confirm their activities, and register as an applicant through the application form. Applications with incomplete forms or other deficiencies will not be accepted.

5. Judging Method

Based on the judging criteria, a judging committee composed of external experts will review the applications and select recipients for the following awards: Grand Prix (Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award): One selected from all applicants Runner-up Grand Prix (Forestry Agency Director-General Award): Selected from excellent entries, not exceeding 10% of the total applications

6. Announcement of Selection Results

The award recipients are scheduled to be announced on the Forestry Agency website around early October, Reiwa 8. Furthermore, all applicants will be registered and announced as "Green Partners" who contribute to the revitalization of mountain villages and appropriate forest management through Morigyo. Green Partners can use the following "Green Partner Mark" to promote their initiatives.

7. Notes

Information provided in application forms etc. by applicants may be secondarily used by the Forestry Agency with the prior consent of the applicant. Applications, awards, and Green Partner registrations may be canceled in the following cases:

(1) If false information is provided in the application. (2) If the application violates the implementation guidelines, laws, or public order and morals. (3) If the Forestry Agency deems cancellation to be appropriate for other reasons.
