Koriyama City will co-host an interactive sports event, 'Fukubaton Fes 2026,' with the nonprofit organization Spread From Fukushima (SFF) on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Horaiya Bonds Arena.
Under the theme 'Connecting. Opening. Toward New Friends and an Unseen Future,' the event aims to bring together students and young professionals under the age of 30 from across Fukushima and beyond, fostering new connections across generations and regions through sports.
The program includes accessible sports activities such as tug-of-war, sack race, boccia, and the Fukubaton Relay—designed for participants of all skill levels—alongside student performances, icebreakers, and networking sessions to encourage natural interaction among attendees.
For those interested, a pre-event exchange program will be held on Saturday, August 15, the day before the festival, from 13:00 to 18:00. This session includes venue setup, interactive workshops, and a networking event, allowing participants to build relationships even before the main festival begins.
