Oki Shuzo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: 174 Harada, Okinoshima Town, Oki District, Shimane Prefecture; Representative Director: Tetsu Hasegawa), a historic brewery on Oki Island, will launch "Danshu?", a new sake experience aimed at young people aged 20 and over.

Danshu? is a sake inspired by the concept of "Bi-Brew," a new form of alcohol that "brews" (creates) the best atmosphere (Vibe) to share with others. The concept is "Resonance Sake" where the mood of people and places resonate with each other.

It offers an entry point to enjoy sake more freely and more joyfully, while fitting into scenes where sake has traditionally been distant, such as places with music, casual parties, or the first toast with friends. Even if you're not familiar with sake, start with a fun toast. Danshu? is the "first sip" for young people to encounter sake culture and connect to the authentic sake of Oki Island and its brewery.

"Resonance Sake" Danshu? where the mood of people and places resonate

We want to create an opportunity for young people to encounter sake

Sake is an alcoholic beverage deeply intertwined with Japanese food and regional culture. Brewed with local rice, water, climate, and the skill of the brewers, sake embodies the unique history and stories of its region.

On the other hand, the domestic sake market has been in a long-term decline, and many young people feel that sake is "difficult to choose," "not something you can drink casually," or "don't know when to drink it." To pass on sake culture to the next generation, it is necessary not only to convey its deep flavors but also to first create opportunities for enjoyable encounters.

Danshu? is about toasting with friends before knowing about sake. It's about making the atmosphere fun before discussing flavors. We aim for Danshu? to be the "first sip" for young people to naturally encounter sake.

Bi-Brew that "brews" atmosphere (Vibe), a new concept of "Resonance Sake"

The concept of Danshu? is "Resonance Sake." Resonance Sake is not a new classification of alcoholic beverages, but Danshu?'s unique concept that expresses the experience of people and places resonating with each other's moods.

Time spent with someone special. The exhilaration born at the moment of a toast. Music, conversation, smiles, the atmosphere where the Vibe of the people present resonates. Danshu? was developed as a sake that brews such happy times when you want to resonate with someone.

While retaining the depth of sake, it is made to be shared with others more freely and more lightly.

Danshu? proposes a new way to enjoy sake through the concept of "Resonance Sake."

A new sake experience that can be enjoyed from the toast.

Enjoy from the toast, chilled to the bone. Light and happy sake

Danshu? is characterized by its pleasant 12% alcohol content and light, enjoyable drinkability.

The recommended way to drink it is to chill it thoroughly in the refrigerator just before drinking and enjoy it ice-cold.

The first glass can be enjoyed like a shot, and it can be easily incorporated into toasts with friends or party scenes.

It also inherits Oki Shuzo's long-held brewing philosophy: "What goes well with white rice will also go well with this sake." Its soft mouthfeel, which does not assert itself too much, resonates with the umami of the ingredients and naturally blends with meals. Clubs, music events, home parties, gatherings with friends. It is a light and happy bottle that naturally fits into scenes where sake has been difficult to access until now.

The "first sip" for young people to naturally encounter sake

A happy sip that makes even the gods dance. The thought behind the name "Danshu?"

The brand name "Danshu?" was born from an homage to the history and culture that breathe on Oki Island and the desire for people to enjoy sake more freely. Oki Island, where myths, nature, and human activities have long existed. We want young people to easily enjoy the sake brewed in that land. With this desire, we have adopted the brand image of "a happy sip that makes even the gods dance."

The catchphrase is "Shall We Danshu?"

It's an invitation not just to drink, but to share a mood with someone and make the atmosphere of the place lively. The name Danshu? embodies the story of Oki and an invitation to a light sake experience that makes you want to invite someone.

The catchphrase is "Shall We Danshu?"

Oki Shuzo, the only brewery on Oki Island

Oki Shuzo Co., Ltd. is the only brewery on Oki Island, Shimane Prefecture, floating in the Sea of Japan.

Oki Island is a naturally rich island surrounded by sea, mountains, and forests. Its name is recorded in "Kojiki" and "Nihon Shoki," and it is also a historical island where Emperor Gotoba and Emperor Godaigo were exiled in the Middle Ages. To preserve the sake brewing industry on Oki and pass on the island's sake culture to the future, five companies from the Saigo Sake Brewing Association merged in 1972 to establish Oki Shuzo Co., Ltd. At the same time, the sake name "Oki Homare," which is still inherited as the representative brand, was born through a public competition.

What supports sake brewing on Oki is the water nurtured by the island's nature and the brewing techniques passed down through generations. Mist born from the sea where warm and cold currents meet is carried to the forests, and after slowly passing through old strata, it is polished to become soft brewing water.

Oki Shuzo's motto is: "A sip as if sharing with the gods."

The newly born "Danshu?" is a new sake experience proposed for the next generation, while inheriting that brewing spirit and culture. From a sip as if sharing with the gods, to a sip that makes even the gods dance. Danshu? is a bottle born from the encounter between Oki Shuzo's history and its challenge to the next generation. We aim for this sip to spark interest in the depth of sake and the land of Oki Island.

The only brewery remaining on Oki Island, Shimane Prefecture. Brewing with techniques and spirit passed down through generations.
