Oki Shuzo Co., Ltd. is the only brewery on Oki Island, Shimane Prefecture, floating in the Sea of Japan.

Oki Island is a naturally rich island surrounded by sea, mountains, and forests. Its name is recorded in "Kojiki" and "Nihon Shoki," and it is also a historical island where Emperor Gotoba and Emperor Godaigo were exiled in the Middle Ages. To preserve the sake brewing industry on Oki and pass on the island's sake culture to the future, five companies from the Saigo Sake Brewing Association merged in 1972 to establish Oki Shuzo Co., Ltd.
