30% of Nurses Want a 4-Day Workweek, But Less Than 1% of Hospitals Offer It

An analysis by Second Labo Inc., using JNA data and 13,000 job postings, reveals a massive gap in the nursing industry. While 31.2% of nurses want a 4-day workweek, only 0.9% of hospitals have implemented it. Surprisingly, demand is highest among veteran nurses in their 50s (34.3%), highlighting it as a crucial retention strategy rather than just a youth trend. Furthermore, home-visit nursing stations are 60 times more likely to offer this flexible schedule compared to traditional hospitals.
