Create Presentation Materials with the Feeling of Writing an Article! "Qiita" Releases "Slide Function" for Creating and Publishing Slides with Markdown as a Beta Version

Qiita Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nakamura Ward, Nagoya City, President and CEO: Kensuke Shibata), a group company of Ateam Holdings Inc., which develops diverse IT services with creativity and technical expertise, and operates "Qiita (Kiita)," a service for recording and sharing engineer-related knowledge, announced that the "Slide Function," which allows users to create and publish slides simply by writing Markdown, was released as a beta version on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, on "Qiita (Kiita)," one of Japan's largest engineer communities.

What is Qiita's New "Slide Function"?

The "Slide Function" allows you to create and publish slides using the same Markdown notation as Qiita articles. Engineers can create and share presentation materials directly with Markdown, which they are familiar with in their daily lives.

For slide generation, we have adopted "Marp," an open-source Markdown slide tool used by engineers worldwide. "Marp" is characterized by its ability to create slides from simple Markdown notation, its high compatibility with Qiita articles, and its flexible customization capabilities through custom CSS.

[Ease of Use] Create slides just by writing Markdown

You can create slides with the same operational feel as writing a Qiita article. No need to learn new tools. Created slides can be published directly on Qiita and shared via URL. Deliver your output to more engineers in the same place as your articles.

[Compatibility] Publish past Marp slides on Qiita as they are

Using the "Slide Import Function," you can import existing Marp slides into Qiita for editing and publishing. Presentation materials created and managed in your local environment can be published on Qiita as they are.

[Flexibility] Express designs with your own CSS

By importing custom CSS, you can create slides designed to match your company's or personal brand. You can also freely customize fonts and color schemes based on the default theme.

Background of the "Slide Function" Release

In an era where anyone can easily share information through the use of AI, the value of conveying one's own experiences and thoughts, not just information, is increasing.
