A talk program where different "language professionals" converse in-depth one-on-one.
The program title "Aigake" (meaning "half-and-half" or "layered") is derived from the concept of "enjoying different flavors on one plate," much like layered curry.
The guests invited are individuals who, while having professions different from announcer Shinpei Kitamura, such as essayists, actors, and voice actors, share the strong commonality of "handling language with care." Through their approaches to language honed in their respective fields, this is a rich talk program that deeply explores what it means to "convey" and what it means to "exhaust one's words."
Broadcast Content & Special Guest Lineup for Each Episode
[Episode 1 (July 10)] Guest: Shiho Namayuba (Writer, Essayist)
For our memorable first night, we welcome writer and essayist Shiho Namayuba, making her first appearance on ABC Radio.
Announcer Kitamura will delve into Namayuba's delicate perspective that captures the nuances of everyday life. Additionally, a special corner will be developed, using their shared hobby of "Japanese music lyric fetishism" as an entry point. Heated words will be exchanged, centered on music, exploring why a single line of lyrics can deeply resonate in one's life.
[Episode 2 (July 17)] Guest: Manami Motokami (Actor, Narrator)
On the second night, Manami Motokami, who was raised in Osaka and resides in Kyoto, and is active as an actor and narrator, will appear. A conversation between Motokami, who grew up in Kyoto, and announcer Kitamura will be realized.
They will discuss "Kyoto's everyday life" not found in guidebooks, the scenery visible only to those who live there, and the changing seasons. Furthermore, from the theme of the deceased mother's famous line, "When you get lost, go towards the light," spoken by Motokami in the popular drama "Ginga no Ippyō," they will introduce their "nameless walking paths."
[Episode 3 (July 24, Final Episode)] Guest: Marin Fujii (Voice Actor)
On the final night, voice actor Marin Fujii, who is active leveraging her strength as being "Kansai-based," makes her first appearance on ABC Radio.
She will passionately express her love for Kansai in Banshu dialect, explaining why she is based in Kansai in a voice acting industry concentrated in Tokyo. Furthermore, from the perspectives of "voice actors who breathe life into script text" and "announcers who deliver news," they will explore the difference between "reading" and "conveying," delving into the depth of "words that are conveyed by ear." Don't miss this passionate finale where announcer Kitamura's otaku side, deeply knowledgeable about anime culture, will be fully unleashed.
Please enjoy the "aigake" of language professionals on the radio.
