ABEMA, the "TV for the future" streaming platform, announced that 'Poppin-Play Kitchen' (original concept, direction, screenplay, and animation by Zemyata), the first work of its 'Project PRISMation' initiative aiming to create original anime alongside next-generation creators, will receive a sequel following strong domestic and international reception.

'Project PRISMation' is an initiative designed to collaborate with individual creators and elite small teams who publish animation, co-producing original anime pilot films. It supports the creation of memorable stories for viewers and stimulating creative environments for creators. The name combines "PRISM" and "Animation," symbolizing a place where diverse talents gather and shine as anime works, much like white light dispersing into various colors through a prism.

'Poppin-Play Kitchen', which has now been greenlit for a sequel, was the pilot film released as the first installment of 'Project PRISMation'. Directed by Zemyata, a Thailand-based creator known for vivid colors and a dark pop aesthetic, the work surpassed 1 million views on YouTube within 10 days of its release. It drew attention for its unique world-building, receiving numerous comments from both Japan and overseas. The animation was also nominated in the People's Telly category at the 47th international Telly Awards. *As of May 14, 2026, it has exceeded 2.13 million views, according to ABEMA.

To commemorate the sequel announcement, an exclusive new visual and a message from Zemyata were released. Zemyata stated, "My heart is full of joy. I promise to cherish the feelings you all have shown and to exceed those expectations," adding, "I won't make you wait too long... so please look forward to it!"

Furthermore, 'Project PRISMation' has launched its first public call for pitches to discover next-generation talents to co-create new stories. The program is seeking "short original anime pitches" and their subsequent "expansion plans." Projects selected through a rigorous review process by ABEMA will receive comprehensive support, including production costs for the short anime, as well as promotion and commercial development to deliver the work globally.

There are no eligibility restrictions; professionals, amateurs, and individuals of any age, gender, or nationality may apply. Application Deadline: August 31, 2026 (Monday) 23:59 (JST)

The CyberAgent Group, which provides ABEMA, emphasizes a "creator-first" approach in its goal to provide new value to the anime industry, believing that "good IP is born from the passion and creativity of creators." The company plans to proactively continue efforts that support participating creators and provide viewers with opportunities to discover new anime works.
