ABEMA, a new future TV, offers over 1,000 Korean dramas, movies, K-POP programs, and audition shows.

Masayuki Furuya, a specialist in Korean popular culture known for his work as a radio DJ, event MC, and journalist, has highlighted the buzzworthy drama "S Line ~The Relationship You Shouldn't See~," currently exclusively available in Japan and domestically on ABEMA, in "Furuya's ABEMA Korean Wave TIMES." This program features Furuya introducing Korean dramas and K-POP shows to watch on ABEMA, along with various information and behind-the-scenes stories.

The drama introduced this time is the highly anticipated new drama "S Line ~The Relationship You Shouldn't See~," which began its exclusive free distribution in Japan and domestically on ABEMA on June 22 (Mon).

First, what is the "S Line"? This work is an analytical suspense that depicts a world where a red line (S Line) appears above the heads of people who have had sexual relations.

It's a truly fascinating work that I highly recommend you watch. The opening of the first episode alone is so impactful that it makes you wonder, "What is this drama!?"

The protagonist, Hyonup, is played by Arin from OH MY GIRL. I've worked with her group since their debut, so I was very much looking forward to her starring role.

Hyonup has the special ability to see an S Line above everyone's head whenever she looks at them. This line connects people who have had sexual relations.

For her, living in such a world, seeing S Lines on everyone she looks at means she has no choice but to live a truly painful daily life. When she goes to school, she sees relationships she doesn't need to know, relationships she shouldn't know, such as between teachers, or between teachers and students. In such a situation, her heart cannot bear it, and she becomes a shut-in at home.

However, the story suddenly picks up pace when she starts attending school again due to a certain incident...

The appeal of this work lies in the fact that the plot is completely unpredictable. You know "who is connected to whom," but you have absolutely no idea "what will happen next." The way it's presented is truly brilliant.

As the story progresses, you discover that she isn't the only one who can see S Lines. Surprisingly, glasses that allow you to see S Lines appear. Anyone who wears these glasses can see the same view as her. And misfortune awaits those who obtain these glasses.

This is only natural, of course. You're seeing things you shouldn't be seeing. What's more, what happens if the person involved is someone connected to you... Just knowing it would surely make it impossible to remain calm.

In this way, the drama's development is truly relentless, constantly defying expectations.

I myself wear glasses regularly (laughs), but of course, I don't see S Lines. However, just thinking about what would happen if my glasses had such a power makes my heart race. That's how well-crafted the premise is.

Furthermore, the visual beauty of this drama is a major draw. Beyond the scope of a drama, it has a visual quality akin to watching a music video, instantly drawing you into its world.

This visual beauty has been highly acclaimed overseas, attracting global attention, including winning the Best Music Award at the 8th Cannes International Series Festival. I hope you will pay attention not only to the story but also to its visual expression.

In fact, as of this recording, I haven't finished watching all the episodes yet. But the staff told me, "Furuya-san, the latter half is really intense," and even with a little bit of what they told me, I was surprised, thinking, "Is that really going to happen!?"

The story is said to scale up further towards the latter half, so I myself am really looking forward to the continuation. It's a work I've been thoroughly hooked on for the first time in a while.

This buzzworthy drama, "S Line ~The Relationship You Shouldn't See~," will be available for free viewing of all episodes on ABEMA from its distribution start on June 22 (Mon) until August 31 (Mon).

I confidently recommend this one, so please take this opportunity to watch it. Perhaps you too will be able to see S Lines... maybe.

Synopsis

"What if your hidden sexual relationships were visualized as red lines?"

An analytical suspense depicting a strange world where red lines (S Lines) appear above the heads of people who have had sexual relations.

One day, suddenly, a "red line" appears above her head. It connects her to those with whom she has had physical relations. However, not everyone could see these red lines, but Hyonup (Arin) could see them from birth. Because of this, her family collapsed, and she ended up living alone. While harboring thoughts of wanting to die, she somehow could never die. Then, a new neighbor suddenly appears before Hyonup. After saving her neighbor from being involved in an incident using her ability to see red lines, Hyonup meets Jiwook (Lee Si-young), a police officer investigating the incident. Jiwook's niece, Sona (Lee Eun-saem), was being bullied at school, but one day she obtains mysterious glasses that allow her to see red lines and begins her revenge. Hyonup, who had known Sona for a while, warns her to avoid disaster, but it's already too late. This fantasy thriller depicts various human relationships in society, unfolding as her own secrets are exposed.
