Acompany Inc. (Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture; CEO Ryo Yu Takahashi; hereinafter 'Acompany') is pleased to announce that Tsubasa Takahashi, who has been serving as Principal Researcher, has been appointed Chief Scientist and Executive Vice President of Research & Development effective July 1, 2026.

Tsubasa Takahashi is a researcher with world-leading achievements in AI security and privacy, as well as practical experience in implementing Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) in business. Since joining Acompany as Principal Researcher in January 2026, he has led R&D efforts and delivered significant results in project advancement. Following his appointment as an executive officer, he will oversee R&D strategy as a member of management, accelerating the development and societal implementation of Acompany's 'Confidential AI'—AI that protects secrets—at an even greater pace.

Career Summary

2010: Joined NEC Corporation. Worked as a researcher at the Central Research Laboratory, focusing on R&D in privacy-preserving technologies and AI security. 2015: Research exchange at Carnegie Mellon University. 2018: Joined LINE Corporation (now LY Corporation) as Senior Researcher. Led the business implementation of federated learning and differential privacy, and R&D on the safety and reliability of large language models and image-generation AI. 2023: Appointed Senior Researcher at LY Corporation Research Institute. 2024: Appointed Director of AI Security & Privacy Promotion Office. Same year: Seconded to SB Intuitions Corporation. November 2024: Joined Turing Corporation, conducting R&D on vision-language models, world models, and AI safety. January 2026: Joined Acompany Inc. as Principal Researcher; appointed Chief Scientist and Executive Vice President of Research & Development in July.

Major Achievements and Awards

Published numerous papers at top-tier conferences in machine learning (ICLR, AAAI), computer vision (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV), natural language processing (ACL), and databases (SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE). Served as editorial board member for domestic academic societies. Translator of the book 'Privacy Protection for Machine Learning'. Selected as KDD 2025 Outstanding Reviewer and recipient of the Urayasu Memorial Award from the Database Society of Japan. Completed doctoral program at the Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering, University of Tsukuba. Holds a Ph.D. in Engineering.
