Aerahome Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo / President and CEO: Hideyuki Nakajima), with the corporate philosophy of "Creating a lifestyle loved across generations," exhibited at the "Children's Disaster Prevention Festival 2026" (Organizer: ami seed) held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Ami Town, Ibaraki Prefecture.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to consider home preparedness, featuring hands-on exhibits where parents and children could learn about disaster prevention technologies to protect their homes and families from earthquakes and floods, as well as a disaster prevention lecture by Professor Osamu Takahashi of Tokyo University of Science.

Exhibition Content and Venue Atmosphere on the Day

At the Aerahome booth, based on the concept of "phase-free," which posits that a comfortable home in normal times serves as preparedness to protect the family during disasters, the following disaster prevention technologies were exhibited and introduced:

1. Earthquake Countermeasures | MER SYSTEM x Highbest Wood

We exhibited a seismic-resistant structure combining the seismic damper "MER SYSTEM," which suppresses building sway, with the structural paneling material "Highbest Wood," which has high surface strength. Children and their guardians were able to see, touch, and easily learn about the mechanism that absorbs and disperses seismic energy, realizing a home that is strong against repeated tremors.

2. Flood Countermeasures | Flood Damage Prevention Water Drain

Amidst increasing flood damage from typhoons and torrential rains, we exhibited the "Flood Damage Prevention Water Drain," which suppresses water intrusion into homes. This product garnered significant interest from many attendees as a measure against the risk of water damage to everyday homes.

Additionally, Professor Osamu Takahashi of Tokyo University of Science gave a disaster prevention lecture, and students performed an original kamishibai (paper play) titled "Ami-tude," creating a space where children and adults alike could collectively and enjoyably raise their disaster awareness.

Comments from Professor Osamu Takahashi, Tokyo University of Science

I sincerely congratulate you on the great success of this event, which was attended by a total of 390 people.

Our laboratory at Tokyo University of Science, led by Professor Takahashi, also had a valuable opportunity to consider disaster prevention with the local community through our disaster prevention lecture and the kamishibai "Ami-tude."

For the students, it was also a wonderful experience to interact directly with local residents and children, learning together.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone at ami seed, the volunteers, related organizations, the heroes, and everyone involved in the operation.

We hope to continue contributing, even in a small way, to the improvement of regional disaster preparedness.

Future Outlook

Aerahome will continue to convey the message from the perspective of a housing manufacturer that "everyday homes themselves are the front line of disaster prevention."

We will strive to promote the "phase-free" concept, where housing performance and home features useful in daily life directly support families in emergencies, thereby contributing to the realization of a safe and secure community.
