AICE Inc. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takumi Sato; hereinafter "AICE") will hold a free online webinar titled "AI Utilization in the Construction Industry - With BIM Transition in Mind, How to Improve Estimating Operations with 2D Drawings x AI" on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 12:00 to 12:30.
This webinar will organize how estimating operations can be improved starting from existing 2D drawings, with an eye toward BIM transition, based on public statistics, case maps, interviews with construction professionals, and actual projects from equipment construction companies.

[What You Will Gain from This Webinar]
AI Utilization in the Construction Industry and the Current State of Estimating Operations as Seen Through Statistics We will organize the current state of estimating operations based on data such as "Estimate Creation" ranking first at 28%, BIM adoption rate at 58.7%, and 82 construction AI cases.
How Far Will Estimating Operations Change with 2D Drawings x AI? Based on cases of drawing takeoff AI and estimating AI, and actual projects from equipment construction companies, we will confirm the scope for improvement that can be started with 2D drawings.
Processes to Entrust to AI and Processes Requiring Human Judgment We will organize a realistic division of labor: primary takeoff by AI, aggregation through macros and integration, and judgment of construction conditions and validity by humans.
7 Selection Criteria and How to Start with 1 Project and 1 Trade We will introduce checkpoints to determine if it fits your company's drawings, trades, and estimating workflow, as well as a method for trying it out on a small scale.
[Recommended For]
Those in charge of DX promotion and operational improvement in the construction industry.
Those who want to review the personalization and workload of estimating operations.
Those who want to achieve both efficiency in current 2D drawing operations and progress in BIM transition.
Those who want to determine how to apply AI to their company's drawings and estimating workflow.

[Background of the Event]
In construction sites, one of the most time-consuming tasks currently is estimate creation and estimating operations.
A private survey (targeting 1,065 construction industry workers in 2025) found "Estimate Creation" to be the top-ranked task at 28%, cited more often than schedule management or photo management.
On the other hand, interest in utilizing 3D data such as BIM is high, with adoption reaching approximately 60% (58.7%, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism FY2024 survey). However, in actual estimating work, there are still many situations where operations proceed based on existing 2D drawings.
In light of this situation, this webinar focuses on a realistic division of labor where AI performs the initial takeoff, macros and existing system integration are used for refinement, and humans judge construction conditions and quantity validity.
Furthermore, we will organize 7 checkpoints to determine if it fits your company's drawings, trades, and estimating workflow, as well as a method for trying it out on a small scale with one project and one trade.
