On March 25, 2026, AI Data Co., Ltd., a company specializing in corporate data and AI utilization, participated in "Quantum Cafe #06," a member-only event hosted by the Quantum Forum. This event served as the inaugural meeting of the "Quantum IP Working Group," focusing on IP strategies in the field of quantum technology.
The meeting was conducted in a closed-door format for full members of the Quantum Forum, attended by various players including companies, research institutions, startups, and experts.
While expectations for the social implementation of quantum technology are high, it is a field with high technical uncertainty that requires different IP strategies compared to traditional ones. Designing the role of IP in parallel with technological development is a key issue. AI Data Co., Ltd. plans to hold the "AI Agent x AX Forum Quantum (tentative)" in July 2026 as a venue to further develop these discussions.
The program featured the following lectures: - Shinichi Man (Director, Quantum Forum): Opening Remarks - Tomoyuki Hirai (CEO, LegalTech Inc. / Advisor, AI Data Co., Ltd.): "IP Strategy in the AI Era: Current Status of AI Agents" - Yoshihide Tsunobuchi (Partner Patent Attorney, Lexeed Tech Patent Attorneys): "IP Strategy and Patent Search/Rights Acquisition Know-how for Quantum Inventions" - Koji Imon (Quantum Computer Research Center, RIKEN): "Trends in Quantum-related Patents and RIKEN's Initiatives"
A key practical takeaway from the lectures was the "division of labor between AI and humans," where AI is used for patent searching, information organization, and hypothesis construction, while humans are responsible for final decision-making and strategic planning.
Moving forward, AI Data Co., Ltd. will leverage insights from this working group to host a forum on the utilization of AI agents and business support in advanced fields, with detailed program announcements to follow.
