Aidem Inc., a comprehensive HR information service provider, has compiled the average part-time hourly wages for May 2026 based on job postings published via the job media 'e-Aidem' and the recruitment website building service 'Job Gear'.

In this survey, data on job types and average hourly wages were extracted weekly and aggregated for the East Japan and West Japan areas, respectively.

The average hourly wage for the entire East Japan area was 1,289 yen, an increase of 50 yen compared to the same month last year. All job categories saw an increase compared to the previous year.

The average hourly wage for the four Tokyo metropolitan area prefectures was 1,317 yen, up 57 yen year-on-year.

The average hourly wage for the entire West Japan area was 1,235 yen, an increase of 45 yen year-on-year. Five job categories recorded an increase.

The average hourly wage for the three Kansai prefectures was 1,252 yen, up 46 yen year-on-year. All prefectures recorded an increase year-on-year.
