Air China Cargo Orders Four Additional Airbus A350F Freighters, Bringing Total to 10

Airbus has announced that Air China Cargo has placed an additional order for four A350F freighter aircraft. This transaction brings the airline's total order for the A350F to 10 units, following a previous order for six aircraft placed in November 2025.

Air China Cargo began integrating Airbus freighters into its fleet at the end of 2023 and currently operates eight A330-200P2F passenger-to-freighter conversions. The addition of the A350F will create operational synergies with the existing A330-200P2F fleet, allowing the carrier to optimize performance across long-haul and medium-to-long-haul routes.

Designed as one of the world's most advanced cargo aircraft, the A350F is built to meet evolving global air trade demands. It features a range of up to 8,700 kilometers and a maximum payload capacity of 111 tonnes, making it well-suited for international long-haul operations. Constructed with over 70% advanced materials, the A350F is 46 tonnes lighter than its direct competitors.

Powered by the latest Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines, the aircraft achieves up to a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to previous-generation freighters with similar payloads. The A350F is also compliant with the ICAO CO2 emissions standards taking effect in 2027. Upon entry into service, it will be capable of operating with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with a roadmap to reach 100% SAF capability by 2030.

As of the end of April 2026, the Airbus A350F has secured 101 firm orders from 14 customers worldwide.
