Background: Moving from the Era of Asking a Single AI to the Era of "Debating" with Multiple AIs

While the use of generative AI in IP operations is expanding, a challenge has been that answers from a single AI model inevitably carry biases in knowledge and inference tendencies specific to that model, making it impossible to blindly trust the responses. This is particularly risky when referring to the conclusion of just one AI on points where "opinions can differ," such as patent claim interpretation or examination of inventive step.

"Three Heads Are Better Than One" addresses this challenge by having three AI models from different developers debate in the same conversation space. If the opinions of the three align, it serves as confirmation of the conclusion's certainty; if they diverge, it signals that "there are points to be considered." Just as the proverb states that even ordinary people can achieve wisdom comparable to Manjushri Bodhisattva when three gather to consult, this feature achieves a depth of consideration unattainable by a single AI through the consensus of multiple AIs.

1. Automatic Debate by Three AIs

When a user speaks to the chat, Claude, GPT, and Gemini respond in a random order, taking into account the entire conversation up to that point. Each AI agrees with, refutes, or supplements the statements of the others, naturally deepening the discussion.

2. Customizable Debate Rounds

Users can set the number of debate rounds for the three AIs. This allows for flexible use depending on the need: one round for quick, multifaceted opinions, or multiple rounds for thorough exploration of points.

3. Role Assignment Through Persona Settings

Each AI can be assigned a persona such as "Patent Office Examiner," "Applicant's Patent Attorney," or "Technical Expert." This enables discussions that replicate practical scenarios, such as mock examinations or role-playing for invalidity or infringement arguments.

Use Cases in Intellectual Property Operations

・ Mock Examination Simulation

For a pre-filing claim draft, an AI acting as an examiner points out reasons for rejection, and an AI acting as a patent attorney refutes them. This can be used for preemptively addressing reasons for rejection and pre-building response logic.

・ Claim Ambiguity Check

Compare the interpretations of the same claim by the three AIs. Areas where interpretations diverge are likely to have ambiguous wording, leading to the discovery of unintended deviations in scope of rights.

・ Invention Discovery and Example Expansion

Brainstorming by AIs acting as inventor, engineer, and patent attorney to develop ideas from invention disclosure statements into a form suitable for filing.
