Mitsui Fudosan Residential Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Toru Kamura), in collaboration with the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) (Location: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Seiko Hashimoto), which is supported by Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Shun Ueda) as a TEAM JAPAN Gold Urban Development Partner, and Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Shigeo Nakamura), which supports the physical and mental conditioning of TEAM JAPAN, co-hosted the 'Wataru Morishige 'Kachimeshi®' Talk Show' on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 'TEAM JAPAN 2020 VILLAGE' in Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport HARUMI FLAG. This event was held as part of the WANGAN ACTION project led by Mitsui Fudosan Residential, with the goal of revitalizing the Tokyo waterfront area (Kachidoki, Tsukishima, Toyomi, Harumi, Toyosu, etc.). By utilizing 'TEAM JAPAN 2020 VILLAGE'—a facility opened through the cooperation of Mitsui Fudosan Residential and the JOC at the former site of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Village—the event served to convey the values of the Olympics and sports, contributing to the promotion of 'urban development utilizing the power of sports' in the Tokyo waterfront area. The event was linked to the 'Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics TEAM JAPAN Support Fair' held by the three parties until Saturday, February 28, and approximately 30 people participated in the 'Kachimeshi®' talk show. At the beginning of the event, speed skater Wataru Morishige appeared and greeted the audience, saying, 'Thank you very much for all your support during the Olympics.' Following this, the 'Kachimeshi®' talk show with Ajinomoto Co., Inc. was held. Reflecting on his meals and nutritional support at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, participants learned about the importance of food and nutrition in sports and the points athletes pay attention to. Attendees showed great interest in the behind-the-scenes stories and the eating habits of athletes that are not usually seen. Furthermore, elementary and junior high school students, along with their parents, learned techniques for easily practicing 'Kachimeshi®' at home, such as what to be mindful of in their daily meals and what kind of food is best to consume. During the guest talk session after the 'Kachimeshi®' talk show, Morishige spoke about his 'childhood encounter with speed skating' and his 'thoughts on this Olympics and enthusiasm for the next,' which the participants listened to with great interest. During the Q&A session, when asked about how he spends his time before a match or his interactions with other athletes, Morishige shared his experiences from the recent Olympics, noting that he 'communicated with the skating team to ease tension while maintaining focus for the competition.' Afterward, participants enjoyed interacting with Morishige through a raffle for signed goods and a commemorative photo session. In closing, Morishige reflected on the event, saying, 'I would be happy if this event helped you become even a little more interested in winter sports. Please continue to support us.'
